A shocking incident disrupted religious celebrations in Thane after a man was attacked with a knife during the 30th anniversary programme of the Vitthal-Rukmini Temple at Gavdevi Vegetable Market.
The incident occurred amid the ongoing Akhand Harinam Week celebrations organized for the temple’s 30th anniversary. According to reports, volunteers were collecting funds and organizing activities for the event when the suddenly attack took place.
The victim was reportedly standing in front of Navnath Sukhdev Vaikar when an unidentified man suddenly assaulted him with a knife, causing panic among devotees and locals present at the market.
The injured individual sustained serious head injuries in the attack and required seven stitches. The sudden act of violence created chaos in the otherwise peaceful religious gathering.
Following the incident, the victim was rushed to a hospital in Kalwa, where he is currently undergoing treatment. His condition is reported to be stable but under observation.
The incident has led to fear and creating serious among traders and residents in the Gavdevi Vegetable Market area, with many questioning the safety arrangements during public events.
Police have begun an investigation into the attack and are working to identify and apprehend the आरोपी. Officials are also reviewing CCTV footage from the area to determine the motive behind the assault.Further updates are expected as the probe progresses.
