Ulhasnagar– On March 20, 2026 concerns over law and order have resurfaced in Ulhasnagar after a dramatic attempted theft was foiled in the early hours of Thursday.
The incident occurred around 4:30 AM in the busy Press Bazaar area near Old Dalda Depot and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk in Camp Three. According to initial information, two skilled thieves targeted an office and attempted to steal an air conditioning (AC) unit installed outside the premises.
While cutting the connecting pipe of the AC unit, the आरोपी allegedly came into contact with a live wire, resulting in a sudden electric shock accompanied by sparks. Startled and frightened by the incident, both thieves immediately fled the scene, leaving the thieft attempt incomplete.
The entire episode was captured on a nearby CCTV camera, providing crucial evidence for the investigation.Local police have launched a search operation and are currently scanning the CCTV footage to identify and trace the suspects. Officials have assured that necessary action will be taken soon.
Meanwhile, the incident has sparked anger among residents and shopkeepers in the area. Citizens have raised concerns about rising theft attempts and have demanded increased night patrolling and stricter security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
Fortunately, the unexpected electric shock averted what could have been a successful theft, but the incident has once again highlighted the need for heightened vigilance in the city.
