Mira Bhayandar – In a major crackdown on banned substances, the Mira Bhayander-Vasai Virar Police (MBVV) exposed an illegal gutkha and tobacco business operating in Bhayander East.
The operation was initiated after an alert citizen dialed the emergency helpline 112 and informed authorities about suspicious activities on Gatak Road. Acting promptly on the tip-off, police teams conducted a raid at the указан location.
During the raid, officials seized a large quantity of gutkha and tobacco products, which are strictly banned in Maharashtra. The confiscation highlights the scale at which the illegal trade was being carried out.

The sale, storage, and distribution of gutkha and pan masala are completely prohibited in Maharashtra due to serious health concerns. Despite the ban, such products are often smuggled from neighboring states like Gujarat.Authorities, along with agencies like the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), have been continuously conducting raids to dismantle these networks and curb the illegal trade.
Officials have appreciated the role of alert citizens in reporting such activities and urged the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement to keep communities safe and free from illegal substances.The raid serves as a strong warning to those involved in banned goods trade, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to strict enforcement.
