Ulhasnagar News: Youth Brutally Attacked Near Netaji Chowk, 8 Booked by Police

Ulhasnagar News: A shocking and violent incident has once again raised concerns about safety in Ulhasnagar after a youth was brutally attacked with a knife near Netaji Chowk late Saturday night.

What Happened?

According to police sources from Vitthalwadi Police Station, the incident took place on April 14 around 10 PM near the HDFC Bank area at Netaji Chowk. The victim, identified as Aslam Sheikh, was reportedly having tea when an old dispute suddenly turned violent.

Eyewitnesses and initial reports suggest that a group including Salman Sheikh, Shahrukh Sheikh, Rajman Sheikh, Irfan Sheikh, and Altaf Sheikh allegedly attacked Aslam with a knife following a heated argument. What began as a verbal altercation quickly escalated into a life-threatening assault.

“They Tried to Kill Me” – Victim’s Statement

In a disturbing account, the injured victim described the terrifying moments of the attack:

“I was leaving in my car when suddenly some boys surrounded me. Salman came forward, pulled out a knife, and slashed towards my neck. I turned, so it hit my side. Then others attacked me from behind… I fell down, and they kept kicking and hitting me. Someone even shouted to cut my neck.”

The victim further claimed that around 15–20 people were present at the scene, many of whom he could not . He alleged that the attack appeared planned and that several attackers tried to kill him.

Injuries and Medical Emergency

Following the brutal assault, Aslam Sheikh suffered serious injuries, particularly to his head and ribs. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment. His condition was described as critical but stable.

Police Action and Investigation

Police have registered a case against eight accused individuals and initiated an investigation. However, sources indicate that there may be discrepancies in the complainant’s statement, which could affect the strength of the charges.

Officials from Vitthalwadi Police Station confirmed that further inquiry is underway to identify additional suspects and verify whether the attack was pre-planned or a result of a sudden dispute.

Rising Safety Concerns in Ulhasnagar

This incident has sparked fear among local residents, especially given the busy nature of the Netaji Chowk area. Citizens are questioning the growing number of violent crimes and demanding stricter policing and surveillance.
