Ulhasnagar News: CT Scan Machine Out of Order Since March 17, Patients Face Hardship

Patients in Ulhasnagar are facing major difficulties after the CT scan machine at the district hospital stopped functioning on March 17, disrupting essential diagnostic services.

The CT scan facility, which was being operated by Krishna Diagnostic, has remained stopped due to the breakdown of three crucial components  the tube, detector, and TAC system. Officials have indicated that the machine is too old, and replacement parts are no longer available, making immediate repair unlikely.

Over the past two years, more than 2,000 patients benefited from this CT scan facility. The sudden shutdown has left many patients especially those from economically weaker sections struggling to access timely medical diagnosis.

With the government facility non-functional, patients are now forced to visit private diagnostic centres, where CT scans are significantly more expensive. This has led to an increased financial burden on families, particularly in emergency cases.

Residents and patients have expressed strong dissatisfaction over the prolonged disruption of such a critical service. Many have demanded that authorities take immediate action to restore CT scan facilities at the hospital.

Considering the age and condition of the existing machine, citizens are urging the administration to install a new, modern CT scan machine at the earliest to avoid further inconvenience.

As of now, there has been no clear timeline for repair or replacement. Meanwhile, patients continue to suffer, highlighting the urgent need for improved healthcare infrastructure in Ulhasnagar. The situation underscores the importance of maintaining essential medical equipment, as delays directly impact patient care and affordability.
