Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke from KD: The Devil Sparks Massive Controversy, Pulled from YouTube.

A newly released song, “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke” from the upcoming film KD: The Devil, has landed in the middle of a major controversy just days after its release. Featuring Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, the track has drawn sharp criticism over its lyrics and choreography.

Released in mid-March 2026, the song quickly went viral but not for the right reasons. Audiences and critics alike slammed it for its suggestive “double-meaning” lyrics and provocative dance sequences. Particular outrage centered around lines like “Choosega ya chatega,” which many labeled as vulgar and unsuitable for family audiences.

Popular singer Armaan Malik also weighed in on the controversy, expressing strong disappointment on social media. He criticized the direction of commercial songwriting, stating that it had reached a “new low” and adding that he “wished he could unhear it.” His remarks further fueled the ongoing debate.

The controversy escalated when the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) issued a notice to the filmmakers. The commission acted on complaints alleging that the song’s lyrics and visuals were obscene and could negatively influence minors.

Song Removed from YouTube

Facing mounting public backlash and legal pressure, the makers took down the song from YouTube. Both the Hindi and Kannada versions were reportedly removed between March 16 and 17, 2026.Adding another twist to the issue, lyricist Raqeeb Alam distanced himself from the controversy. He claimed that the criticized lines were not originally his creation but rather literal translations of the Kannada version, which was provided by the film’s director Prem.

The incident has reignited conversations about creative freedom vs. social responsibility in the entertainment industry. While some defend artistic expression, others argue for stricter standards to ensure content remains appropriate for wider audiences. As the debate continues, the makers of KD: The Devil are yet to issue a detailed official clarification regarding the controversy.
