Late Night BMC Action in Kandivali Operation at Lokhandwala at 10:30 PM.

Kandivali : Residents of Kandivali East have raised serious concerns over civic issues in the Lokhandwala Township Kandivali area, after a late-night incident around 10:30 PM triggered widespread discussion on social media.According to local reports, residents have complained about political rallies and public gatherings taking place on residential roads late at night, often using loudspeakers that disturb the peace of the neighborhood. A viral video circulating online reportedly shows a resident expressing frustration over such an event occurring around 10:30 PM, highlighting the growing tension between locals and organizers.Residents say that repeated late-night activities are disrupting daily life, causing noise pollution and traffic congestion in the otherwise residential locality.

At the same time, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation has been actively working on infrastructure changes in the area. Authorities have recently completed the process of providing alternative housing to 192 families as part of the proposed 120-foot road project near Lokhandwala Township.Officials have indicated that demolition of structures obstructing the road project is expected to begin in mid-March 2026 as part of the city’s road expansion plan.Officials have indicated that demolition of structures obstructing the road project is expected to begin in mid-March 2026 as part of the city’s road expansion plan.

In a related enforcement drive, the BMC conducted a major anti-encroachment operation on February 20–21, 2026, in nearby areas such as Mahavir Nagar Kandivali and Mathuradas Road Kandivali. During the drive, officials reportedly removed more than 65 illegal structures and unauthorized stalls to clear blocked footpaths and improve pedestrian movement.Despite these actions, many locals have expressed concerns about what they describe as selective enforcement of civic rules. Residents claim that illegal parking by taxis, trucks, and auto-rickshaws in the Lokhandwala area often goes unchecked.

Some locals argue that vehicle towing and strict enforcement are carried out more aggressively in nearby areas like Thakur Village, while similar violations in Lokhandwala continue without action. The combination of late-night events, traffic congestion, and illegal parking has led some residents to describe the situation as increasingly chaotic. Many are urging authorities to ensure equal enforcement of rules, control noise pollution, and improve traffic management in the locality.

Residents hope that stronger monitoring and timely civic action will help restore peace and order in the busy residential neighborhood of Kandivali East.
