A road accident occurred on the afternoon of March 10, 2026, in the Balpeer area of Beed along the Beed–Ahilyanagar National Highway, leaving several people injured after a speeding auto-rickshaw lost control.
According to reports, the front wheel of the moving auto-rickshaw suddenly detached, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. CCTV footage of the incident shows the front portion of the rickshaw lifting into the air, while the vehicle continued moving forward on its two rear wheels for a short distance.Moments later, the uncontrolled rickshaw crashed into two to three motorcycles travelling on the road.
The accident left three to four people injured, including motorcycle riders and female passengers who were travelling inside the rickshaw. The sudden impact created panic among people in the area as the vehicles collided on the busy highway.After receiving information about the crash, police and ambulance teams quickly reached the spot. The injured victims were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The entire incident was reportedly captured on nearby CCTV cameras, and the footage is now being reviewed as part of the investigation.Local authorities have launched an investigation into the mechanical failure that caused the rickshaw’s front wheel to detach while in motion. Officials are examining whether poor maintenance or a technical defect led to the accident.
