Bhandup : In a tragic incident that surfaced on March 2, 2026, three teenagers were detained for the murder of their 14-year-old friend, Siddharth Ajay Londhe, in the Bhandup area of Mumbai.Siddharth, a Class 8 student, left his home in Tulshet Pada on February 22, 2026, to go out and play. When he failed to return, his family filed a missing person’s report, which was later converted into a kidnapping case.His body was found in Vihar Lake the following evening, February 23. Initially, police suspected accidental drowning.A post-mortem report received on February 26 revealed a severe head injury caused by a blunt object and confirmed there was no water in his lungs or stomach, ruling out drowning. Following separate interrogations, the three minor friends (aged 14–15) confessed to the crime.
The accused reportedly told police they wanted to “teach him a lesson” because they found him to be arrogant or overbearing.The boys allegedly assaulted Siddharth with a wooden or bamboo stick. After realizing he was not breathing, they removed his T-shirt and slippers and dumped his body in the lake to stage an accidental drowning.
Conclusion –
The three accused have been produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and sent to the Dongri remand home. They face charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for kidnapping, murder, and destruction of evidence.
