Dombivli News: In a major breakthrough, police have finally arrested the main accused in a 2023 murder case that had remained unresolved for over two years. The case, registered at Vishnunagar Police Station, involved the brutal killing of a man whose body was found near a creek in the Devich Pada area.

Back in November 2023, a mutilated and unclaimed body was discovered near the creek. The victim had been killed by being attacked with stones, indicating a violent and disturbing crime.
Initially unidentified, the deceased was later confirmed as Somnath Babu Shinde after a detailed investigation.
From Unknown Body to Key Suspects
Following instructions from senior officers, multiple police teams were formed to crack the case. The first challenge was identifying the victim, followed by tracking down those responsible.
Through persistent efforts involving technical analysis, CCTV footage, and ground intelligence, police managed to trace:
- A suspicious rickshaw
- Two suspects: Vilin Vishnu Tavare and Yogesh Timapa Dongre

In a carefully planned undercover operation, officers disguised themselves as locals and successfully apprehended the accused from the field.
