Train Services Disrupted at Kalyan Railway Station After Man Climbs OHE Pole.

Kalyan– On March 22, 2026Train services at Kalyan Railway Station faced major disruption on Sunday after a man climbed onto an overhead equipment (OHE) pole, triggering an immediate safety response from railway authorities.

According to officials, the incident forced a complete power shutdown in the affected section as a precautionary measure. The OHE system, which supplies electricity to railway tracks, had to be deactivated for platforms 1, 1A, and 2 to prevent any untoward incident.

As a result, train services on the down local line between Thakurli Railway Station and Ambivli Railway Station were halted, causing inconvenience to thousands of daily commuters. Several suburban local trains were either delayed or temporarily suspended during the shutdown.

Railway staff and emergency teams rushed to the spot and worked swiftly to bring the situation under control. The man was eventually brought down safely, following which power supply was gradually restored and services resumed.

This incident comes just days after another alarming episode near Kalyan. On March 14, a युवक was arrested for pelting stones at the high-speed Vande Bharat Express, resulting in damage to four coaches. The back-to-back घटनाएँ have raised serious concerns over passenger safety and security of railway infrastructure in the region.

Railway authorities are now expected to review security measures and increase vigilance to prevent such disruptions in the future.Commuters have urged stricter enforcement and surveillance to avoid recurrence of such incidents that not only endanger lives but also disrupt essential public transport services.
