A deeply disturbing incident has come to light from Ujjain, where a student at the Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Ved Vidya Pratishthan was allegedly subjected to brutal physical assault by a teacher, triggering widespread anger and concern.
According to reports, the incident occurred after the student was found sleeping on another student’s bed—an act considered minor but allegedly met with extreme punishment. The accused teacher, identified as Dattadas Shevde, who also serves as a hostel warden, reportedly reacted violently.
A video of the incident, now circulating widely on social media, shows the teacher mercilessly beating the student with a stick. The child can be heard crying out in pain as the assault continues. Sources say the beating was severe enough to leave visible injury marks on the student’s body.
What has further intensified the outrage are claims by other students that such behavior is not an isolated case. They allege that the warden frequently resorts to physical punishment and even forces students to perform personal chores, including cleaning and serving, raising serious concerns about abuse of authority.
The institution involved, Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Ved Vidya Pratishthan, functions under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and is responsible for promoting Vedic education through gurukuls across the country. The incident has put the institution under scrutiny, with questions being raised about student safety and oversight.
The viral video has sparked massive outrage online, with many condemning the act as “brutality in the name of discipline.” Citizens and activists are demanding strict legal action against the accused teacher and a thorough investigation into the institution’s practices.
