Mumbai – Ahmedabad : A Range Rover caught fire on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway on Wednesday night, February 25, 2026. The incident occurred around 8:30 PM on the Nalasopara flyover in the Vasai-Virar region. According to the driver, the fire was likely triggered by a short circuit while the vehicle was in motion.Although the high-end SUV was completely gutted and reduced to a charred shell, all occupants managed to escape safely, and no injuries or loss of life were reported.Firefighters from the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation’s Vasai Phata sub-center arrived quickly and brought the blaze under control.The fire and subsequent emergency response caused a temporary traffic disruption on the busy highway.This event follows another recent high-profile vehicle fire on February 14, 2026, where a Range Rover in the convoy of Rajasthan MP Lumbaram Chaudhary caught fire on the Nashik-Mumbai Highway due to a similar suspected short circuit.
