Surat– On March 2026 a shocking incident highlighting how minor disputes can escalate into serious crime, the Surat Police successfully foiled a murder plot involving an armed gang of nine men in the Godadara area of the city.
According to police officials, the entire conspiracy stemmed from a ₹1,000 financial dispute between complainant Sachin Chaudhary and two accused individuals, Kanaiya and Deepak. The situation took a dangerous turn when Sachin allegedly began receiving death threats over the phone, prompting him to immediately alert the authorities.
Acting swiftly on the tip-off, the Surat Police launched a targeted operation in Godadara. In a dramatic sequence captured on CCTV, police teams intercepted the suspects while they were traveling on motorcycles. Officers were seen chasing and knocking the accused off their moving bikes, preventing them from reaching their intended target.
During the operation, six suspects were arrested on the spot, identified as Manish Gupta, Priyesh Dubey, Deepak Yadav, Amit Yadav, Prakash Soni, and Abhishek Yadav. Police also recovered seven large, sharp knives, notably featuring distinctive “rainbow-colored” blades, indicating the gang’s preparedness for a violent attack.
Investigations further revealed that a juvenile was also involved in the group. The accused are reported to be natives of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Officials stated that the timely intervention by the surveillance team not only prevented a possible murder but may have also averted a larger gang conflict in the area.The incident has once again underscored the importance of prompt reporting and quick police action in preventing crimes, especially when seemingly minor disputes threaten to spiral into serious violence.
