A shocking early morning incident on March 25, 2026, has surfaced from the Oshiwara area of Mumbai, where a roadside cigarette seller was brutally assaulted and dragged by a car following a dispute over a payment of ₹870.
According to police sources, the incident occurred around 5:00 AM near the popular Lucky Biryani corner on New Link Road. A group of four individuals, including a woman, arrived in a white Maruti Suzuki WagonR and purchased cigarettes worth ₹870.However, when the seller demanded payment, the group allegedly refused, leading to a heated argument.
During the confrontation, the woman reportedly grabbed the vendor by his collar, while another individual said to be shirtless physically assaulted him through the car window. The situation quickly escalated, leaving the victim vulnerable amid the chaos.

In a horrifying turn, as the seller attempted to stop the accused from fleeing without payment, the driver accelerated the vehicle. The victim was dragged for nearly 100 metres before the car sped away, leaving him injured on the roadside.
The Oshiwara Police Station has registered a case in connection with the incident. Acting swiftly, police have arrested one of the accused, while efforts are ongoing to trace and apprehend the remaining individuals involved.
The incident has sparked outrage among locals, raising serious concerns about lawlessness and the safety of small vendors operating during early morning hours.Further investigation is ongoing, and authorities are expected to take strict action against those responsible.
