A serious road accident took place near Darby Hotel on the Kalyan–Badlapur Highway in Ulhasnagar, after a speeding tempo lost control and rammed into several vehicles.According to reports, the tempo was traveling from Ambernath toward Kalyan when the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle near Darby Hotel in Ulhasnagar Camp 3.
The out-of-control tempo collided with nine vehicles, including four auto-rickshaws and five two-wheelers, causing panic among motorists and pedestrians in the busy area.
Authorities suspect that the driver may have suffered an epileptic seizure, which likely caused him to lose control of the vehicle. However, officials said that the exact cause will be confirmed after a detailed investigation.
Fortunately, no fatalities were reported in the incident. However, several people sustained minor injuries and were treated locally. The accident caused temporary traffic disruption on the busy Kalyan–Badlapur Highway.Police and local authorities reached the spot soon after the accident and began clearing the damaged vehicles from the road. An investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances that led to the crash.
The incident has once again raised concerns about road safety on the busy highway stretch passing through Ulhasnagar.
