Ulhasnagar : In Ulhasnagar, BJP corporators and local representatives have been actively protesting a severe “bad water” crisis characterized by contaminated, yellow water and irregular supply. The phrase “started to smoke” likely refers to a smoke test, an industry-standard method used by municipal bodies to identify leaks or faults in underground sewer and water pipelines. For months, residents in various parts of Ulhasnagar, including Panel 19 areas, have reported receiving yellow and foul-smelling water. This has led to an increase in waterborne diseases such as stomach pain and vomiting.Former BJP corporator Rajesh Vadhrya and other leaders investigated purification centers and found the water clean at the source, suggesting the contamination occurs within the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC)’s aging and faulty pipeline network.
Some residents have protested by going semi-naked to water supply offices to demand immediate action.
