Kalyan Cyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run on Gandhari-Wadavali Ring Road, Driver Absconds.

A tragic hit-and-run incident on March 24, 2026, has once again raised serious concerns over road safety in Kalyan. The accident took place on the busy Gandhari-Wadavali Ring Road, where a speeding car fatally struck a cyclist.

According to local reports, the car was moving at a very high speed when it hit the cyclist, resulting in an on-the-spot death. The impact of the collision was severe, leaving no chance for survival.

In a shocking turn, the driver of the vehicle fled immediately after the accident, leaving the victim behind. Police have launched a search operation to trace the accused and are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the vehicle.

Residents of the Gandhari Road and nearby areas have expressed growing concern over frequent reckless driving incidents. Locals claim that the stretch, including the Gandhari Bridge, has become a hotspot for illegal car racing and dangerous stunts, especially during late hours.

Following the latest fatality, citizens are demanding urgent intervention from authorities. Key demands include stricter police patrolling, installation of speed breakers, and stringent action against reckless drivers to prevent further tragedies.

Gandhari Road has witnessed multiple fatal accidents in recent times, highlighting the urgent need for improved traffic regulation and enforcement in Kalyan.Police investigation is currently underway, and further details are awaited as efforts continue to nab the absconding driver.
