A minor fire incident at a children’s play zone in Kharghar created a moment of panic on Saturday evening, but prompt action by staff and emergency services ensured that no one was harmed.
The fire broke out at the Bouncing Bunny indoor play zone, located at Bhagwati Greens in Sector 23, around 7:15 PM on March 21, 2026. At the time of the incident, several children along with their parents were present inside the facility. Acting swiftly, the staff immediately evacuated everyone from the premises, preventing any injuries.
Firefighters from the CIDCO Fire Station responded quickly after receiving the alert and reached the location within 10 minutes. Three fire tenders were deployed to control the blaze. The firefighting operation continued for nearly two hours before the fire was completely brought under control, followed by cooling operations to eliminate any remaining risk.
Preliminary assessments suggest that the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit. However, officials have stated that a detailed investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the incident.
Authorities have confirmed that the play zone will remain closed until further notice. A comprehensive safety audit will be conducted before the facility is allowed to reopen, ensuring that all safety standards are met.
The swift response by both the staff and the fire department played a crucial role in preventing what could have turned into a serious incident, ensuring the safety of all visitors present at the time.
