Vashi : On March 3, 2026 tension gripped Vashi on Tuesday after a team from the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) was allegedly attacked during an encroachment removal drive conducted under the Vashi flyover.According to reports, the municipal team had arrived at the site to clear illegal structures that had been erected beneath the flyover. These included temporary huts, makeshift sheds, and stored materials that had accumulated over time.While officials were carrying out the demolition and removal process, a group of individuals reportedly resisted the action. The situation quickly escalated into heated arguments, followed by pushing, shoving, and a direct assault on municipal workers. The sudden outbreak of violence created panic in the area and temporarily disrupted traffic movement.
