Ulhasnagar : On Mar 7 in Ulhasnagar the atmosphere turned tense when the municipal team arrived with bulldozers in the Kailash Colony area. During the operation, bulldozers were used on around 30 houses and one shop, leaving many families homeless.It’s said that the local residents tried hard to save their homes, but none of their efforts stood a chance against the municipal action. Before anyone could react, several houses were razed to the ground.
After this operation, about 30 families were left on the streets, facing a serious crisis over where to live.Things got heated. During the bulldozer operation, the atmosphere in the area turned really tense. Angry locals protested fiercely against the municipal workers and the police. Some people even threw stones at the police and municipal staff, making the situation more intense. The locals claim that the municipal corporation demolished their homes without providing any alternative arrangements, leaving poor families with a major housing crisis. The biggest issue was that throughout this whole matter, the voices of the poor in the city went unheard.
No big leader showed up at the scene, which made people even more upset. Right now, police forces have been deployed in the area, and efforts are underway to keep the situation under control. The big question now is, when and how will these homeless families get alternative places to stay.
