In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, police in Ambernath conducted a raid on March 11, 2026, and seized drugs worth approximately ₹4.25 crore from a residential flat in the city.According to officials, the operation was carried out by Ambarnath Police after receiving specific intelligence about narcotics being stored in the area. Acting on the tip-off, police raided a flat in Mohan Nano Society located in the Chinchpada area of Ambernath West.
During the raid, authorities recovered around 5.3 kilograms of charas, which is estimated to have an international market value of approximately ₹4.25 crore. The large seizure indicates that the drugs were likely intended for distribution through a wider network.Police arrested two individuals from the flat during the operation, including a 19-year-old youth. Officials suspect the accused were involved in the storage and possible distribution of narcotics.
Following their arrest, the accused were produced before a local court. The court has remanded both suspects to police custody until March 16, 2026, allowing investigators more time to interrogate them and gather further information.
Police officials believe the case may be linked to a broader narcotics supply chain.
