Madhyapradesh : A horrifying incident that occurred on Thursday, March 5, 2026, in the Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh.According to police reports, a 16-year-old boy named Bharat Vishwakarma was brutally murdered while traveling to his sister’s house in Samanna village for a festival ritual. The accused, identified as Gudda Patel (also known as Prahlad Patel), allegedly ambushed the teenager from behind with an iron rod and then repeatedly struck him with a hammer, killing him on the spot.
Eyewitnesses and viral videos of the scene led to allegations that the attacker engaged in cannibalism following the murder, attempting to eat the victim’s flesh and drink his blood.Gudda Patel had previously served a long prison sentence for the murder of his wife and had been released from jail relatively recently (reports vary from a few weeks to two years ago).
After a brief pursuit where villagers pelted him with stones, the police apprehended Patel in a nearby field. He has been arrested and charged with murder.Officials are currently evaluating the accused’s mental condition to understand the motive behind this seemingly unprovoked attack, noting he may have “psychopathic tendencies”. The victim’s family and the local community have expressed deep shock and have called for the death penalty for the accused.
