Ladki Bahin Yojana e-KYC Extension.

Maharshtra : The Maharashtra government has extended the e-KYC correction deadline for the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana often referred to as the “Dear Sister” scheme to March 31, 2026. This extension is being called a “last chance” for beneficiaries who missed the previous December 31, 2025, deadline or made errors during their initial submission. The move follows thousands of complaints from eligible women  who stopped receiving their monthly ₹1,500 benefit despite completing the process. Many applicants inadvertently selected wrong options on the portal, such as mistakenly classifying themselves as government employees. Beneficiaries reported glitches like not receiving OTPs or data mismatches between Aadhaar and bank records.Roughly 24 lakh women had their payments paused due to these errors, leading the state to reopen the correction window.

How to Update Your e-KYC

Beneficiaries are urged to correct their details as soon as possible to avoid permanent removal from the scheme.

  1. Portal: Visit the official website at ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in.
  2. Login: Use your registered mobile number and the OTP received to log in.
  3. Correction: Click the e-KYC link, verify fields like your Aadhaar number, name, and income details, and rectify any errors.
  4. Bank Seeding: Ensure your bank account is linked with Aadhaar NPCI to facilitate Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

While the December 2025 and January 2026 installments were delayed due to election rules and administrative reviews, the government expects to release these backlog payments once the e-KYC status is verified. Some beneficiaries may receive combined payments of up to ₹3,000 or ₹4,500 after their account is reactivated.
