Dombivali : A new controversy has started over the setting up of the stall of Ekta Sawant, famously known as the Shawarma Girl Ekta Sawant alleges that she was verbally abused by someone under the influence of alcohol. Ekta Sawant, a young Marathi entrepreneur running a shawarma stall in Dombivli, previously faced challenges when the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) took action against her stall while allegedly ignoring nearby stalls run by non-locals. After her video pleading for help went viral, Raj Thackeray and MNS leader Avinash Jadhav intervened to help her restart her business.Her stall was officially reopened on February 4, 2026, with a photo of Raj Thackeray prominently displayed to deter further harassment.The fresh incident where she alleges further harassment and verbal abuse while trying to operate her newly reopened stall.
