Ulhasnagar News: A man who allegedly pretended to be a high government official and deceived many people by promising them government jobs and benefits has been detained by the Vitthalwadi Police in a startling case of fraud. According to reports, the accused took advantage of victims’ confidence and need for work to defraud them of more than ₹1 lakh.
How Fraud Operated
Police officials claim that the accused posed as an officer from esteemed organizations including the State Crime Record Bureau and the Crime Bureau Investigation (CBI). He established a convincing appearance of authority by using fraudulent documents, identity cards, stamps, and even equipment that looked official.
He would go up to gullible people and reassure them of:
- Government employment in CBI.
- Benefits under various government jobs.
He promised speedy placement or approvals in exchange for large sums of money. Nevertheless, he did not fulfill any of his commitments after obtaining the funds.
Seizure and Arrest
Vitthalwadi Police called the suspect for interrogation after receiving several complaints. When the scam was discovered during questioning, he was taken into custody.
Several suspicious objects were found in his possession by the police, including:
• False identification documents from several federal agencies
• Forged documents and counterfeit stamps
• Seven walkie-talkies• Six badges from the police
• An air gun and additional gear
As part of the inquiry, all of these objects have been confiscated.
Police Intervention and Analysis
The accused is the subject of a case filed under IPC sections 318, 319, 340, 36, and 204. Currently, the inquiry is being headed by Assistant Superintendent of Police Ganesh Mavad.Under the direction of Senior Police Inspector Ashok Kohli and Police Inspector Chandrhar Godse, Assistant Police Inspector K.K. Dhake conducted the first operation.
According to police, the accused has been operating this scam for a considerable amount of time and may have defrauded numerous individuals. Identification of additional individuals who might be participating in this scheme is being pursued.
Police Appeal to Citizens The public has received a severe warning from the authorities:
• Never accept offers of government jobs or benefits from strangers.
• Never trade money for promises of employment.
• Before interacting with any authority, confirm their credentials.
· Report suspicious activity to the police right away.
