Ulhasnagar Rumours Trigger Panic Buying, Long Queues Seen at Petrol Pumps.

Unusual scenes were witnessed across Ulhasnagar on Wednesday morning as long queues of vehicles suddenly formed at several petrol pumps, leading to temporary chaos and confusion among residents.

Compared to regular days, a significantly higher number of motorists were seen lining up to refuel their vehicles. The unexpected rush caused delays and congestion in and around fuel stations, with some areas witnessing brief traffic disruptions.

Many people present at the pumps avoided speaking on camera but informally shared that rumours about a possible petrol shortage or supply disruption had spread rapidly. Fearing that fuel might run out, residents rushed to fill their tanks, resulting in panic buying.

However, there has been no official confirmation of any fuel shortage. Authorities and the Government of India have clarified that there is adequate stock of petrol and other fuels across the country, and supply remains completely normal.

Experts note that such panic buying is often driven by misinformation and fear, which can unnecessarily strain supply chains and create artificial shortages. They emphasize that rumors can escalate situations quickly, even when there is no real crisis.

Officials have appealed to citizens not to believe or spread unverified information. People have also been advised not to crowd petrol pumps unnecessarily and strictly avoid storing fuel at home, as it poses serious safety risks and can lead to accidents.

As of now, the situation in Ulhasnagar is reported to be under control, but authorities continue to monitor developments closely and urge the public to remain calm and responsible.
