Kalyan ₹70 Lakh Pharmacy Scam Accused Dr. Prasad Sali Arrested After 6-Month Hunt.

In a major breakthrough, the Khadakpada Police Station has arrested the prime accused in the ₹70 lakh pharmacy scam, Dr. Prasad Yadavrao Sali, after he remained absconding for nearly six months.

Dr. Sali was nabbed on March 23, 2026, by a police team led by Assistant Police Inspector Vijay Gaikwad. Following his arrest, he was produced before a local court in Kalyan, which remanded him to police custody until Friday for further investigation.

Meanwhile, his wife and co-accused, Vaishali Prasad Sali, is still on the run. Police have formed a special team to trace her whereabouts and bring her into custody.

Authorities suspect that the fraud may involve more victims and are expanding the scope of the investigation. Officials are examining financial transactions and other evidence to uncover the full extent of the scam.

The case was registered following a complaint filed on September 13, 2025, by Dr. Rahul Dubey and pharmacist Pragya Kamble.

According to the complaint, the accused couple allegedly lured victims with promises of a 50-bed hospital project in Kalyan. They reportedly offered victims the opportunity to run a medical store within the proposed hospital.

Trusting the proposal, the victims handed over approximately ₹70 lakh in May 2024. However, despite signing formal agreements, the hospital project never materialized. The accused subsequently went off the radar, especially after their anticipatory bail plea was rejected.

Police officials have urged anyone who may have been similarly duped to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.Further developments in the case are expected as the probe continues.
