Ambernath– In Ambernath, the police have taken strong action in a charas smuggling case worth over 1.25 crore rupees. They arrested Shahjan Marcus Maske, aka Sheikh, a clever female smuggler from Ulhasnagar. Ulhasnagar’s women are actively involved in drug trafficking in Ambernath, causing quite a stir in the area. The police received confidential info that drug trafficking was happening in the western part of Ambernath. Based on this tip-off, the police seized 5.3 kilograms of charas. The international market price for this charas is around.
About 1.25 crore rupees were involved in this case. Earlier, the police had arrested the main 21-year-old accused, Harshal Patel, and Sirajuddin Jalauddin Ahmed. After a thorough investigation, the police followed the leads all the way to Ulhasnagar. Based on that, they took action and arrested Shajan Marcus Maske, aka Sheikh. According to the police, Shajan is suspected to be a key player in drug trafficking. Senior Police Inspector Shabbir Sayyed said that the woman arrested earlier already has a case filed against her under the Narcotics Act.
The criminal history clearly shows that the police have started a thorough investigation into the entire smuggling case. There’s no contact with Shahjan yet, and the investigation is being expanded to find out exactly how far it goes. The police have said that some major revelations might come out in a few days. On the date 10/3/26, an FIR was filed at Ambarnath police under the NDPS Act. In that, we attacked two accused and seized 5 kilos 385 grams of charas from them. They got PC till the 16th, and during that time, based on their statements.
A woman named Shehnaz Shaikh was attacked, and during their interrogation, they mentioned some accused names. The investigation is ongoing these three accused have any criminal records.Two of them don’t have any records, but the female accused does. She has one criminal record from 2018 under the NDP Act for attacking someone. There are a couple more names involved, and the investigation is still underway.
