A traffic police officer was allegedly attacked while performing his duty in the Kashimira area of Mira Road in Thane district on March 12, 2026, raising fresh concerns about the safety of law enforcement personnel in the region.According to initial reports, the incident took place in the Kashimira area, where the officer was managing traffic and attempting to resolve a dispute between two two-wheeler riders.
While the officer was trying to calm the situation and mediate between the individuals involved, one of the persons in the dispute allegedly attacked the traffic policeman.
After assaulting the officer, the accused reportedly fled from the spot before police could detain him. Authorities have launched a search operation to identify and apprehend the suspect.
Police officials have begun an investigation into the incident, and efforts are being made to trace the accused using local surveillance footage and eyewitness accounts. Further legal action will be taken once the suspect is identified and arrested.
The incident has sparked concern among residents in the Mira–Bhayandar region, with many questioning the safety of police officers who face increasing risks while performing their duties.Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against the attacker and that such incidents will not be tolerated.
