A shocking incident over a minor dispute turned fatal in the Kopar area of Dombivli, where a 35-year-old security guard was murdered after an argument over wasting water. The incident took place on March 10, 2026, in the Annabhau Sathenagar locality, creating tension in the area.The deceased has been identified as Umesh Waghe (35), who worked as a security guard for a railway project. Police have arrested the accused, Akshay Jadhav (24), in connection with the murder. The case is being investigated by Vishnunagar Police Station.
According to police sources, the incident began with a dispute at a public water tap in Annabhau Sathenagar. Waghe had reportedly washed his hands and feet and allegedly left the tap running.
A woman, later identified as the accused’s wife, confronted Waghe for wasting water. The argument escalated and soon involved her husband, Akshay Jadhav. Though the confrontation initially subsided, the dispute did not end there.Later, Jadhav allegedly went to Waghe’s worksite and attacked him with an iron rod, striking him on the head. Waghe suffered severe injuries in the assault and died as a result of the attack.
Police from Vishnunagar Police Station quickly took action after the incident was reported and arrested the accused. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to determine the full sequence of events.The brutal killing over such a trivial issue caused significant tension in the Kopar area of Dombivli West, with residents expressing shock and anger over the incident.Authorities have urged people to remain calm while the investigation continues.
