A disturbing incident has been reported near Virar Railway Station East Subway, where a female auto-rickshaw driver was allegedly attacked by a group of fellow drivers late in the evening.According to preliminary information, the victim, Siddhi Satarkar, was reportedly assaulted by Amol Mhatre and Nirmala Mane between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM near the station subway area.The incident reportedly occurred following a dispute, though the exact cause of the altercation has not yet been officially confirmed.
Following the attack, Siddhi Satarkar sustained serious injuries and was immediately rushed to Sanjeevani Hospital for treatment.Doctors admitted her to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due to the severity of her injuries, and she is currently receiving medical care.As news of the incident spread, several auto-rickshaw drivers gathered outside the hospital to express anger over the attack. The gathering created tension in the area, with many demanding strict action against those responsible.
Police from the local station have reached the hospital and the incident site to gather information. Officials are questioning witnesses and collecting evidence to identify the accused involved in the assault.Authorities stated that further legal action will be taken after the investigation, and efforts are underway to locate the suspects allegedly involved in the attack.The incident has raised serious concerns about safety and disputes among transport workers, especially involving a woman driver working in the profession.
